Maths Beyond Limits, an international math camp that gathered 45 successful high school students from 20 countries, was opened in Konjic on Saturday evening.
”We are honored that an international science camp is being held in Konjic, one of the largest mathematics camps for high school students, which brings together the best students and lecturers from all over Europe and the world. We are proud of the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has young ambassadors, like mathematical olympians, to whom we sincerely wish that knowledge and success will guide them through life. Given that we value and reward the knowledge and achievements of all young people from Konjic, Bosnians and Herzegovina, who try to impose themselves in society with their knowledge and skills, the support of the City of Konjic for such an international gathering is unquestionable,” said the mayor of Konjic, Osman Catic, during the opening of the camp, congratulating participants on the results they achieve in the field of mathematics.
Boris Stankovic, project coordinator of the MBL Balkan camp, thanked the City of Konjic for its hospitality and help, stressing that the camp is an exceptional opportunity for young mathematicians to first establish friendships, and then to learn from leading names in the world’s mathematical community. ”We believe that this camp is a good foundation from where young people will take experiences with which they will change the world in the future,” said Stankovic.
Young mathematicians who arrived in Konjic from various parts of the world, during the camp that will last until April 3rd, 2023. will have the opportunity, apart from studying and socializing with eminent lecturers from world universities, to get to know Konjic, its natural and cultural values, and to visit Sarajevo and the sights of the capital of BiH, Klix.ba reports.
