The Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, in cooperation with the Japanese Foreign Trade Organization JETRO Wien, the Embassy of Japan in BiH and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency in BiH, organized a visit of a Japanese business delegation to BiH.

President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH Bruno Bojić said at a press conference that BiH is experiencing a boom especially in automobile sector, given that contracts with nearly all car manufacturers have been signed, as well as in pharmaceutical industry.

“I hope the Japanese companies will recognize the opportunity and continue cooperation,” said Bojić, expressing gratitude for JETRO for the positive framework and friendly atmosphere that should result in a positive outcome.

Bojić added that BiH is currently working on improving its business environment, adding that BiH is the country with the most favorable business environment in the region at the moment.

This visit is considered especially important because the foreign trade exchange of BiH and Japan is not substantial and amounts to around 10 million BAM.

Ambassador of Japan to BiH Kazuya Ogawa said that he discovered that BiH has many potentials both in energy and manufacture sector, as well as in agriculture, and said that more should be done regarding the improvement of foreign trade exchange between these two countries.

“I am very pleased that JETRO and VTK BiH are organizing this together. I believe that many Japanese businessmen do not have an overly positive perception of BiH. This will be a good opportunity for them to change their mind,” Ogawa said.
