The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will pronounce a judgment in the case of Ibro Ćufurović on 27 December 2019, at 10 a.m., Courtroom 4. The Indictment charges the accused Ibro Ćufurović with the criminal offense of Organizing a Terrorist Group under Article 202d), Paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of BiH (CC BiH) as read with the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201 of the CC BiH.

The Indictment alleges that the accused Ibro Ćufurović left BiH on 21 April 2014 and flew to Turkey, from where he illegally crossed the border into Syria, which is where he went to fight on the side of the so-called Islamic State organized in the territory of Syria and Iraq and terrorist groups of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) which operated in the territory of Syria and Iraq. The groups were listed as terrorist by the UN Security Council, under 1999 Resolution R-1267, as well as other related resolutions, because their goal was destabilization and forcible change of the political and constitutional order in Syria. Their members have, by daily armed actions, specifically by attacks on civilian population, killings, unlawful detention, hostage taking and other actions, aimed to force Syria’s legitimate authorities to change the constitutional order and political regime.
