The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met with the Head of Diplomacy of the Netherlands, Hanke Bruins Slot, on the sidelines of the “Justice for Ukraine” conference, which is being held in The Hague. On that occasion, Minister Bruins Slot pointed out that the Netherlands is convinced that BiH’s future is in the European Union.

Konaković thanked the Netherlands for its support in making the decision to open BiH negotiations with the EU, stressing that the opening of negotiations represents extremely strong support for pro-European forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We are aware that the opening of negotiations is the beginning of the road on which we will face internal challenges that are trying to block the European path, but that the authorities in BiH will do everything to meet the necessary conditions and reforms that are still ahead of us,” he emphasized.

Minister Bruins Slot congratulated Bosnia and Herzegovina on the opening of negotiations and said that she appreciates cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the context of European integration, but also in the sphere of security and economy.

“We are glad that your vision of the European future has achieved concrete, tangible results. We are convinced that the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the EU and that BiH will accelerate reforms and continue to take major steps towards full membership,” she pointed out, BHRT writes.
