European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos expects the authorities of Republika Srpska (RS) to respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), to annul secessionist laws, and to accept the outcome of the court proceedings against RS President Milorad Dodik, which are ongoing before the Court of BiH.

“We expect the RS authorities to respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, to annul secessionist laws, and to accept the outcome of the court proceedings that are ongoing before the Court of BiH, regardless of the outcome,” stated Kos in her address to Members of the European Parliament regarding the situation in countries that are candidates for EU accession.

She stated that she expects BiH to take all necessary steps identified by the European Commission in 2022, based on which the European Council could adopt a Negotiating Framework for membership.
