In the next four years, within the framework of the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans worth six billion euros, Kosovo could receive 882 million euros if it implements the necessary reforms agreed with the European Commission, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Besnik Bisljimi said today.

At the press conference after the session of the Government of Kosovo, he said that of the funds that Kosovo could receive, 235 million euros are grants, and the rest are loans.

“The plan aims to bring our country closer to the European Union and accelerate the process of achieving reforms, to speed up entry into the European Union. For the next four years, the European Commission has allocated six billion euros for the countries of the Western Balkans. Kosovo will have 882 million euros when we finish the reforms that we have agreed with the European Commission,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo.

He added that the Government in Pristina is working on the implementation of a plan that “brings Kosovo closer to joining the EU” and that reforms have been agreed with the aim of strengthening the administration, the organization of line ministries, completing the legal framework for public procurement, improving cyber security, strengthening the implementation of the legislative framework and the rights of minority communities.
