The President of the SDP Party of BiH Zlatko Lagumdžija met with the Ambassador of the US to BiH Patrick Moon in Sarajevo.

Lagumdžija spoke to Moon about the details of the visit of the NATO General Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

It was assessed that the visit was very productive, and that once again all relevant political factors confirmed that principles from the Agreement are being respected on solving the issue of military assets that was reached last year.

Apart from that, Lagumdžija and Moon spoke of the process of political dialogue led by the EU Delegation, with the goal to help local political forces in finding a solution to implementing the “Sejdić-Finci’’ case.

Lagumdžija said that SDP will be a constructive partner of this process and that it will be a part of the solution. He mentioned that for SDP, one of the political priorities is to obtain EU candidate status.

A part of the meeting focused on the activities of the US Embassy regarding the question of constitutional reform of the FBiH, in which political parties are currently not engaging.

Special emphasis was placed on the issue of the finishing stages of the construction of the FBiH government that has to be completed as soon as possible, and which should respect basic democratic principles so that the consequences of the current blockade can be alleviated.
