Kravica Waterfall, one of the most recognizable natural symbols of our region, has been included among the 12 best hidden gems of Europe for 2026 on the list of Best Treasure Destinations in Europe, published by the reputable European tourism platform European Best Destinations.
As reported by the Tourist Board of the City of Ljubuški, Kravica took 7th place. On the list, it was in the company of exceptional European destinations such as Tübingen in Germany, Motovun in Croatia, Isola San Giulio in Italy and Meteora in Greece.
“This recognition represents much more than just another tourist recognition. It is confirmation that the beauty of Kravica, but also the authenticity of the area in which it is located, have their place on the European tourist map,” say the Tourist Board of the City of Ljubuški.
They emphasize that the inclusion of Kravica among the best hidden gems of Europe is a recognition of the natural value of the region, but also an incentive for the further development of Ljubuški as a recognizable tourist destination.
“Kravica is our natural jewel. Today, it is increasingly recognized by Europe. This recognition further obliges us to preserve what we have, develop tourism in a sustainable way, and continue to position Ljubuški as a destination worth discovering, not just once, but again,” emphasize the Tourist Board of the City of Ljubuški.
The Trebižat River, flowing through travertine barriers, has shaped one of the most impressive natural phenomena in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Surrounded by greenery and natural pools, the Kravica waterfall has been attracting visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, Europe, and the world for years. At a time when travelers are increasingly seeking authenticity, preserved nature, and experiences outside of the usual tourist routes, the strength of Kravica and Ljubuški lies in the combination of natural and cultural heritage, gastronomy, wine, active tourism, and the hospitality of the people of this region, Fena writes.
