The Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, met today in Sarajevo with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce.
The friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom were highlighted, along with the intensive political dialogue and substantive cooperation across numerous sectors.
The commitment to cooperate in all areas of mutual interest was emphasized, particularly the deepening of a strong partnership under current global and geopolitical circumstances, the Council of Ministers of BiH stated.
Strengthening links and cooperation between businesses from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom is of particular importance. Such cooperation allows the Bosnian economy to undergo technological modernization and acquire advanced skills, whether in management or production.
The United Kingdom remains the sixth-largest foreign investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting also addressed the country’s European path, which remains a key foreign policy objective for BiH. Holding an intergovernmental conference would be an important step, officially marking the start of negotiations for full EU membership, the statement added.
