The Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić held a meeting with the acting director of the Sarajevo International Airport Dino Selimović and the acting executive director for development Slobodan Kadijević and the director of the Airport Services Sector Vedrana Vikić Musić, on the strengthening of logistical support for the export of the domestic dedicated industry.

The meeting is a continuation of the contacts made at the extremely successful Balkan Shield 2026 fair, which, along with the presentation of domestic production capacities, opened up new opportunities for business connections and development.

They discussed the development of the Cargo Center, the improvement of storage and transport capacities, and the possibility that most of the exports of domestic companies are realized through Sarajevo Airport, which already has significant experience in this segment.

Lakić stated that Balkan Shield connected companies and opened topics important for the further growth of our industry.

“This meeting confirms that the work continues even after the fair. In addition to stronger production, we need to develop domestic logistics, as an important link that connects our products to world markets. This is how we strengthen domestic companies and ensure that more benefits from their success remain in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Lakić pointed out.

Selimović stated that the dedicated industry is one of the most important export sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Sarajevo Airport recognizes its role in providing efficient and reliable logistical support for its further development.

“Discussions started during the Balkan Shield fair and continued at this meeting confirm the significant potential for improving cooperation. Through the development of the Cargo Center and the strengthening of storage and transport capacities, we want to create the conditions for an even greater volume of exports from domestic companies to be realized through Sarajevo Airport, which would further contribute to the competitiveness of the BiH economy on the international market,” added Selimović, the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry announced.
