The film was made with a combination of techniques of 3D animation and filmed scenes, and it is inspired by the dragon from the village of Umoljani on Bjelašnica.

“In one small Bosnian village, hidden in the crags of mountain passes, where life is led in accordance with the nature, every spring, over many centuries, a ritual is being held when the Big Dragon is called, the protector and unifier. As time goes by and times change, the strength of the ritual loses its power. The village is no longer hidden and protected. New influences, new beliefs and new divinities arrive,” states the synopsis of the movie “Dragon”.

The movie “Dragon” lasts 12 minutes.

“The screening met my expectations, the cinema was full, and due to great interest we held three screening of the film. Reactions and comments on the film are positive,” Ramadan said.

Ramadan said that his primary motive for filming one such film was the legend about the dragon from the village of Umoljani, as well as the motives from tombstones which served as an inspiration.

“In the film, we used many elements of BiH tradition such as sevdalinka, tombstones and gluho glamočko kolo (an old folklore dance). My idea at the very beginning was to blend the animation and live image, in order to make a film which represents it all,” said Ramadan and added that something like that has never been done here.

After the special screening of the film for director’s friends and visitors from Sarajevo, the film will premiere at one of the festivals.

“I have already started sending the film to festivals and now its festival life begins. It will probably take between one year and two, and only then it can be expected on the Internet,” said Ramadan and added that special screenings of the film will certainly be held at several other cinemas in Sarajevo.
