The cause of his death has not been confirmed. In a farewell message on Facebook, German producer Westbam wrote that only two weeks ago he played music together with Bruckner.

“I spoke to him three days ago and he said he was recovering from the flu but seemed fine. Tom had some fantastic new music and was really looking forward to Rave The Planet with all of us. As we now know: that’s not going to happen. That is truly heartbreaking. Rest in peace bro,” he said.
