davor SajevicYou thought that heavy metal and the army do not go together?

Davor Sajevic, Lieutenant in the Armed Forces of BiH (AF BiH), will prove to you exactly the opposite.

A great fan of long guitar solos and aggressive and fierce rhythm did not know that he will be making a career in the AFBiH one day. He had long hair and a band  in his student days, and he was thinking about a job that will allow him to continue to pursue his great and first love – music.

This 27 year-old young man from Vitez started working in a private company after graduating from the Faculty of Criminology and Security Studies in Sarajevo. However, for the ambitious young person like Davor, who is looking for challenges and new skills, the job that he worked was not enough.

When the Ministry of Defense of BiH announced a competition for admission to professional military service of the Armed Forces in the initial rank of lieutenant, Sajevic decided to apply.

After he passed all the stages of testing and verification, Sajevic spent a year on the Basic officers’ training in the AFBiH, which according to the standard and compatibility, is not inferior to similar forms of training in the armed forces in the region and in the world.

Today, he says, he is very happy and satisfied with his new call.sajevic2

“I have a stable job, regular salary, non-working days for national holidays and religious holidays, the possibility for early retirement, and what is the most important for me – the possibility of further promotion and development,” said Sajevic and added:

“I have not given up on metal. The music is still part of my life. I do not have my band anymore, but I still sometimes play the guitar and sing just for myself.”
