Manager of football club Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers will try to jump the queue for Asmir Begović, if Pepe Reina rejoins Barcelona, reports The Mirror.
Rodgers is prepared to offer Stewart Downing to Stoke as part of a bid for keeper Begovic.
If Reina tells Liverpool he wishes to return to Barcelona, where he grew up in the La Masia academy, Rodgers will also be able to offer Begović a guaranteed first team spot. He hopes that gives him the edge over Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, who also rate the £15m-rated keeper.
