The locals of Bistrica near Prijedor gathered today to once again express their dissatisfaction with the mining of lignite in their village, which was started two months ago by a company from Teslić.
Today, the locals went on a protest walk towards the site where coal mining is planned. They are against this decision, because as they claim, it would bring numerous damages such as damage to nature, water pollution, release of sulfur into the air.
Locals reminded that a few weeks ago, a company from Teslić, which is interested in coal mining in this place, started preparatory work illegally and without a permit, and they claim that the excavators have already dug up about a thousand cubic meters of soil.
