On 21 May 2022, the Liaison Observation Team (LOT) in Trebinje conducted two Mine Risk Educations (MRE) at the Primary school Vuk Karadzic. The aim was to inform about the danger of mines and UXO (unexploded ordnance) threat in BiH. The pupils of the 04th and 06th grade followed the course very actively and with interest.

They asked several questions about the mines, mine fields and locations. Some also reported that they have already seen mines. Members of LOT TREBINJE also distributed notebooks to remember the mine hazard.

EUFOR provides Mine Risk Education all over the country to risk groups such as farmers, forestry companies and in particular children of all ages in order to raise awareness and promote safe behavior.
