“The start of the trial of the accused Debevac, Mehmedagić and Pijuk before the Special Department was scheduled after the Criminal Department of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision under number 65 0 K 1201947 26 Kr, which resolved the conflict of jurisdiction in the case. The Municipal Court in Sarajevo initiated an examination of the conflict of jurisdiction, considering that it did not have jurisdiction to proceed in the case against the accused Debevac, Mehmedagić and Pijuk, which was previously conducted before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina under number S1 2 K 047095 25,” the Information Service of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina states.

In a press release, they emphasize that the confirmation of an indictment or the issuance of a non-final decision against a certain person does not mean that that person is actually responsible for committing a criminal offense. According to the principle of the presumption of innocence, everyone is considered innocent of a criminal offense until their guilt is established by a final judgment.
