The General Secretary of Our Party, Nihad Uk, was appointed today as the mandate holder of the new convocation of the Sarajevo Canton Government.

Clubs of SDP, NiP and SBiH supported the proposal of Our Party to appoint Nikad UK as the mandate holder.

Today, this proposal was signed by the Chairman of the CS Assembly, Elvedin Okerić.

The appointed representative of the KS Government has a deadline of 30 days to submit the names of the ministers in the new CS Government.

“I want the Canton of Sarajevo to be an exporter of good solutions for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. For example, the situation was similar with maternity benefits in the Canton of Sarajevo, which were disputed at the time of adoption, and today it is the most regular thing in other cantons,” Uk pointed out in an earlier interview for the “Avaz” portal.

Uk was born in 1989 in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo, and then received his master’s degree from the Department of Public International Law at the same faculty.

Since 2017, he has been the general secretary of our party, and before that he was employed in the real sector.

Regarding his political career, from 2016 to 2020 he was a councilor of Our Party in the Center Municipal Council, and he was also part of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo.

From 2016 to 2022, he was a councilor of Our Party in the Centar Sarajevo Municipal Council, and at the same time he was delegated to the City Council of the City of Sarajevo.

In the General Elections of 2022, he was elected as a representative of Our Party in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly. In those elections, he obtained 2,923 votes and was fourth in the number of votes within his party’s list.
