“Manga, Hokusai, Manga” Exhibition in the National Museum BiH extended

By popular demand, the Embassy of Japan in BiH is honoured to announce that the “Manga, Hokusai, Manga” exhibition will remain open in the National Museum BiH until July 31, 2024.

By introducing some of the similarities and differences between modern Japanese manga, which now enjoy worldwide popularity, and Hokusai’ s manga, this exhibition sets out to introduce the charms of this unique field of Japanese culture. This exhibition is a great opportunity for people in Bosnia and Herzegovina to experience a part of Japanese culture that has been cherished for years. You can see the exhibition from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until 31 July 2024.

As a part of the promotional activities of “Manga, Hokusai, Manga” exhibition the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with Center for Culture and Youth, organized the workshop and lecture on manga, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The event was hybrid and involved around 160 participants, who had the opportunity to learn interesting details from the world of Japanese manga and attend a lecture by the excellent artist and president of the Manga Association of Japan, Machiko Satonaka, who spoke live from Japan via video link. The artistic director of the, Majo Pavlović, moderated the workshop and provided the participants with valuable tips and instructions for drawing in the manga style.

This exhibition is extremely important for strengthening the cultural ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan, providing the audience with a unique opportunity to venture into the world of Japanese manga and better understanding of Japanese culture.
