How many Overnight Stays was recorded in the first 7 Months of this Year?

touristsTourists recorded 634,612 visits in BiH in the period January – July 2016, which is by 10.9 % and 1,306,148 overnight stays more, and by 10.4 % higher in comparison to the same period in 2015.

Number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was higher by 0.9 %, while the number of foreign tourists was higher by 15.4 % in comparison to the same period in 2015, according to the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

In the total number of overnight stays, participation of domestic tourists was 31.7 % and 68.3 % of foreign tourists.

In the structure of foreign tourists, most of overnight stays in the first seven months of 2016 were realized by tourists from Croatia (12.2 %), Turkey (10.3 %), Serbia (9.4 %), Italy (5.9 %) and Slovenia (5.8 %), which makes a total of 43.6 %. Tourists from other countries realized 56.4 % of overnight stays.

According to the length of overnight stays of foreign tourists in BiH, in the first place are tourists from South Africa with an average stay of 4.2 nights, than Ireland with 3.6 nights, Kuwait with 3.2 nights and Latvia with 3.1 nights.

According to the type of accommodation object, the highest number of overnight stays was in the framework of the activities of hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.6 %.
