touristsIn this year, 87 asylum applications were filed for 97 people in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), is stated by the Ministry of Security of BiH.

Namely, 38 requests for 42 people have been solved due to the applicants’ leaving of the Asylum Center.

Particularly interesting is the information that asylum seekers from countries like Philippines and neighboring Serbia are looking for asylum in BiH.

“Asylum seekers are from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, Cuba, Gambia, Cameroon, Philippines, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Kenya, Jordan, Poland”, is stated from the BiH Ministry of Security.

To the following categories of persons, the State of BiH grants protection on the basis of the principle of non-refoulement: the applicant for asylum or the person who has applied for asylum in BiH at the border crossing or after entering the territory of BiH, a refugee or a eligible foreigner and a person who has been granted temporary residence for humanitarian reasons.
