Marina Plakalović, an 18-year-old girl from Pale, has won the title of second placed runner up in the finals of the World Supermodel Pageant, which was held, a few days ago, in Chengdu, China.
Plakalović entered the competition on the recommendation of a friend, a model from Rome, and in the competition which included 30 young women from around the world she was chosen as the second runner up. She returns to China on the 29th of June, where she will receive her crown, sash and the award.
“I am very proud that I was representing Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that I presented it in the best way possible,” said Marina.
18 year old Plakalović is an outstanding third year student at high school. She has been engaged in modeling for seven years and has so far had the opportunity to work in Milan and to participate in the competition for Miss FashionTV in Cyprus.
She loves to travel and to meet new people and experience new cultures, and she is a very big fan of Latin American dance.
After finishing high school, Marina plans to study law and to continue with her modeling career, and as she emphasized, there are plenty of offers so far, and this competition has opened many doors for further success in modeling.
“There are plenty of girls in this business, but the most important thing is to be unique and, of course, hard work goes without question. A girl has to be ready for the many challenges because this job is not easy at all, even though many people don’t think that,” says Marina, adding that she loves modeling because it gives her the opportunity for new friendships, a lot of traveling and a broader view of the world.
