Mass Grave with 50 Bodies found in Khan Yunis

The Palestinian Civil Defense Agency in the Gaza Strip said the bodies of 50 Palestinians killed by the Israeli army were recovered from a mass grave in the southern province of Khan Yunis.

“Our teams in Khan Yunis province discovered the bodies of 50 martyrs of different age groups who were collected by the occupying forces and buried together at Nasser Hospital,” they said in a statement.

They pointed out that more bodies are found in mass graves and under the ruins, and that civil protection teams are continuing with the search and extraction.

The Israeli army announced its withdrawal from Han Yunis on April 7 after a four-month ground operation to return Israeli hostages held by the Palestinian group Hamas, but left the city without achieving its objectives.

The Israeli operation left extensive destruction on roads, houses and infrastructure.

Palestinians in Khan Yunis were evacuated during the ground operation to areas near Rafah and central areas in Deir al-Balah, where they sought shelter in tents and displacement centers such as schools and hospitals.

The number of people killed in the attacks carried out by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023 increased to 34,097, while 76,980 were injured, AA writes.
