Which Mayor has been holding the Office for 22 Years now?

54748591This man has not changed his job for 22 years now. He did not have the need to change anything. He is surrounded with people who trust him and give him their vote every four years.

This is the interesting story of Tajib Muminović, the Mayor of the Municipality of Teočak. When the position of a mayor was established in the FBiH in 1994 with the Washington agreement, Muminović entered the office and never left it.

People trust him and they prove that by giving him their votes. Muminović was dominating in the local elections held in BiH on Sunday as well. He received 68 percent of votes. The opposing candidate stood no chance. Memšo Čeliković from SDP won a thousand votes less than the “eternal mayor”.

Muminović said he does not now where the secret of his success lies.

“It is difficult to say how I make it. I am not sure that I am the best mayor in the world, other people should say that,” said Muminović jokingly.

Years passed, but no one managed to threaten his position seriously. There were attempts of joining and planning, but none of them succeeded.

“I always had more than one half of the votes. I have been in this office since October 1994, when the office was established,” Muminović added.

Muminović was born in 1964. He went to school and university in Tuzla. He lives in Teočak with his wife, children and parents.
