Mayor Igor Radojicic has called on the controversial writer and Nobel laureate, Peter Handke, to visit Banja Luka. “As far as I am concerned, I congratulated to him and invited to come to our city,” Radojicic told reporters during a break from the City Assembly session.
Handke has said recently that he would like to come to Banja Luka again.
“If God allows me to come, I will come next year, maybe in the spring. I love Banja Luka, I love Bosnia and Herzegovina, every country is beautiful. Every country has a good soul, but at this moment it is difficult to detect that soul,” Handke said.
Handke was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in Stockholm on Tuesday, and has caused numerous outrages and protests. Handke is known as a person who glorified Slobodan Milosevic’s politics, while denying that genocide occurred in Srebrenica despite all the facts and ICTY rulings, Klix.ba news portal reports.
