“Regional stability depends on the stability of BiH and the Republic of Serbia. Therefore, we believe that good and quality relations between the two cities, the City of Sarajevo and the City of Belgrade, and the people who are leading those two major cities – the mayor of Belgrade and the mayor of Sarajevo, are very important,” said the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, who is paying an official visit to the capital of Serbia with the delegation from Sarajevo.

“With this goal we are staying in the City of Belgrade, where we had a good working meeting with Mayor Sinisa Mali and the delegation of the City of Belgrade, which resulted in the conclusions that the City of Belgrade and the City of Sarajevo will start and  officially continue with a good cooperation that is based on several very important things, and that includes the economy, tourism, and youth,” stated Mayor Skaka.

“The mayor of Belgrade personally committed to trying to bring a direct flight on the routes Sarajevo-Belgrade-Beijing and Sarajevo-Belgrade-Moscow,” said Mayor Skaka.

According to him, at the meeting was also agreed to insist that the promotion of the City of Sarajevo is conducted in Belgrade and that the two cities do it together in the region in order to bring the entire region closer to tourists from all over the world, especially when it comes to Asia.

At the meeting was also discussed the signing of a co-operation agreement regarding the project EYOF 2019. It was agreed that the City of Sarajevo and the City of Belgrade will sign the Agreement together with the East Sarajevo, in order for the City of Belgrade to get included and to help in the organization of the EYOF 2019.

“It is very important that this represents the beginning of a good and quality co-operation that is based on mutual respect and good relations,” stated Mayor Skaka during his visit to Belgrade.
