After the Municipality of Stari Grad reached a decision on the removal of all summer gardens in the streets Štrosmajerova, Square of fra Grga Martić, Zelenih beretki and Muvekita in September last year, the citizens welcomed this decision with different attitudes.
One part of them supported the decision and the others decided to oppose the decision with a petition.
“The decision stays effective,” wrote Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, Mayor of the Municipality of Stari Grad, on his Facebook profile.
This post collected a number of comments by those who support the wishes of owners to place their summer gardens in the new summer season again, while the others say that it is more beautiful without them.
When the petition was launched, the Mayor of the Stari Grad Municipality said that he will not sign any solutions, regardless of the petitions.
“Those summer gardens have been removed for two reasons: the first one is because owners of cafes paid the occupied area in accordance with the issued permit, but took a lot more of public area than allowed, and the second reason is because of the disruption of public order and peace” Hadžibajrić said.
Owners of the hospitality facilities complained to the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection on the decision by the Stari Grad Municipality and Minister Čedomir Lukić (SDA) issued a solution which annuls the decision by the Municipality of Stari Grad and makes it a subject to reconsideration again.
