Nigel_casey (1)British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina HE Nigel Casey yesterday met Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Zlatko Lagumdzija. Ambassador Casey and Dr Lagumdzija discussed the current political situation, in particular the issue of the Single Reference Number, Croatia’s forthcoming accession to the EU, and the implementation of the Sejdic-Finci judgement.

Ambassador Casey welcomed last week’s agreement by the BiH Council of Ministers of the three agreements relating to the management of BiH’s border with Croatia after 1 July. He welcomed the fact that one of these agreements was endorsed by the BiH Presidency today, and expressed the hope that the Presidency would not delay agreement on the others for any longer.

Ambassador Casey also expressed the hope that BiH authorities would quickly address other pressing issues related to Croatia’s forthcoming accession to the EU, notably the need for agreement on the adaptation of BiH’s Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
