Member of BiH Presidency: Sarajevo will have to acknowledge and recognize Republika Srpska

Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Member Željka Cvijanović said today that there is a growing awareness in the world about the problems of BiH and that Republika Srpska is defending itself.

“I have heard from many important sources that Sarajevo will have to acknowledge and recognize RS. These are things that are very different from what we have heard before. The whole world is changing, but in BiH it seems to me that not everyone understands that this is happening,” Cvijanović told Banja Luka’s Glas Srpske.

She assessed that BiH this year “has sunk into an even greater crisis due to artificially imposed and unconstitutional things and topics that were dictated by a foreign factor, primarily by Christian Schmidt”.

According to her, this is a “state of lethargy, the absence of the possibility of agreement and the absence of the will to find a compromise solution”.

“It is difficult for us to establish that bridge of real dialogue with political Sarajevo, given that their political appetites are significantly greater than what is due to them under the Constitution, and that is actually the whole problem,” Cvijanović emphasized.

She assessed that part of the international factor is trying to encourage their political appetites, which is why, as she emphasized, things are becoming more complicated. If you have reliance on foreigners and foreign interventionism, believes Cvijanović, then the state withers and cannot live a full institutional life.

She emphasized that it is necessary to return to the principle of the Dayton Agreement in order for the state to function.

According to her, all RS institutions are ready for dialogue and agreement, and they are determined not to give away what belongs to that entity of BiH.

“We do not want to take anything that belongs to the Federation of BiH, nor what belongs to the BiH level, which is common. We are always in favor of finding a solution that will overcome something that is artificial. We are always in favor of something being the product of domestic institutions, not imposed solutions,” Cvijanović said.

She concluded that everyone in BiH should work to preserve peace and stability, and that she is sure that will be the case.
