The meeting was held during the traditional annual reception for heads of missions of diplomatic-consular offices seated in Berlin. The reception was held in the Meseberg castle near Berlin, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.

Chancellor Merkel announced that the Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Germany, Christian Schmidt, will visit BiH on July 13. On the basis of results of the recent meeting with members of the BiH Presidency in Berlin, the Minister will determine the ways in which Germany can help farmers in BiH to eliminate the negative consequences of adaptation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

Ambassador Janjetović thanked the Chancellor Merkel for the support that the Government of Germany and herself are providing for BiH, especially highlighting the recent meeting with members of the BiH Presidency in Berlin, where clear and unequivocal support was given to the efforts invested in BiH on the path towards the EU and for the obtaining of the candidate status.

Ambassador Janjetović also spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who sent a clear message that “the entire Europe is waiting for BiH to gladden it with positive news these days” and that the Council for Foreign Affairs of the EU gives a positive response for the BiH application for membership in the EU in July, it was stated.

German Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt will arrive to BiH tomorrow, on July 13, and meet with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić, Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalić, and Minister of Agriculture Šemsudin Dedić.
