Miners from seven Mines in BiH are threatening with Protests on Monday

Miners from seven mines located in the concern of Elektroprivreda BiH will come to protest in front of the building of the Federal Government in Sarajevo on Monday if the workers from the Kreka Coal Mine are not paid their August salary by 3:30 p.m. today.

According to the branch collective agreement, Kreka coal miners from Tuzla should be paid their salaries for the previous month by the 25th day of the month. This has not happened yet for August, which is why a joint meeting of the management board of all seven trade union organizations of the mines from the concern Elektroprivreda BiH was held.

As it was confirmed, if the money in the accounts of Tuzla miners is not paid today by 3:30 p.m., it has been agreed that on Monday the miners of seven mines will start a protest in front of the building of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Government in Sarajevo.

“The main reason for this protest is the classic disrespect of the branch collective agreement, and we decided for that act in front of the FBiH Government building because it is the signatory of the agreement, ie the line minister Nermin Dzindic. This happened due to the fact that the employer avoids dialogue and peace processes, while he manages to secure bans on organizing and conducting strikes at the competent court, ” noted Zuhdija Tokic, president of the Kreka Mine Trade Union.

As Tokic said, the dialogue between the management of Kreka and the union has not existed for a month and a half, and he assesses the current situation in the mine as catastrophic. Due to all the problems, the union requested the removal of director Husein Trumic, but that did not happen.

“He causes new issues every day while making decisions that are not in accordance with the Labor Law, the branch collective agreement and the rulebook, which further complicates the situation. The seriousness of this is shown by the example that a production plan was created which is catastrophic for workers. According to him, we will realize as much as 120 percent of that plan, without being able to get the salary, ” Tokic emphasized.

Under the current order, all coal produced in Kreka’s organizational units in the ground state is directed to the Thermal Power Plant in Tuzla at prices that, as the interlocutor states, are catastrophic.

“Complete delivery of coal in August this year in the amount of 73.480,9 tons was delivered to the Thermal Power Plant in Tuzla at a price of approximately 45 BAM per ton. In contrast, we would get much more if we sold at least 20 or 30 percent of that production in retail the price of 115 BAM, which is the amount in the regular procedure, ” Tokic noted.

When it comes to the current month, the production plan for 22 days was 75.200 tons of coal, and Kreka’s miners produced 81.000 tons. If this kind of work continues, the miners will, according to estimates, sell approximately 100.000 tons of coal by the end of the month. However, they see the problem in the price of coal, which could bring them a salary of four and a half million BAM, which will be insufficient for the payment of the gross salary for which five to five and a half million BAM are set aside, Klix.ba writes.
