The miners of the Zenica Brown Coal Mines Subsidiary, i.e. the only remaining pit plant “Raspotočje”, have suspended production, confirmed the president of the Trade Union of the “Raspotočje” plant, Nedžad Duraković.
As he stated, production was suspended yesterday in the first shift.
“We did not receive any salary in 2024, that is, we received the last salary and allowance for a hot meal for December last year, and we have already entered the third month. So the problems from last year continue,” Duraković pointed out.
He stated that the Management Board of the Public Company Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. the governing company, met yesterday and tried to find a solution to pay the January salaries.
“No one from our management or the union attended that meeting, but as far as we know, they did not reach an agreement. They should meet today, and we hope that they will be able to reach an agreement,” said Duraković.
According to him, the “Raspotočje” facility, after a large number of production interruptions during the last year, has been struggling with the demolition of the roof in front of the “wide front” since December.
“These are jobs that people do outside of the collective agreement, and sometimes we are a little more successful in that, sometimes a little less successful. About 10 days ago, we managed to secure the conditions for more or less normal production, but the roof is still collapsing in front of us.” with a broad forehead,'” stated Duraković, stressing that he fully understands the dissatisfaction of the workers.
