Savo Minić, the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska, today confirmed at a press conference that he has returned the mandate, stating that the Acting President of the RS Ana Trišić-Babić informed him that he will be re-assigned the mandate to form the new government.
Minic announced this decision a few days before the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to rule on the constitutionality of the election of the Government of the RS led by Minic, who was entrusted with the mandate by Milorad Dodik after the final verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The National Assembly of the RS elected a new Government of the RS led by Sava Minic by the votes of the parliamentary majority, despite the fact that the proposal for the mandate came from Dodik after he was pronounced a final verdict prohibiting him from holding public office for the next six years.
– No matter how arrogant it sounds, I believe that there is currently no government or assembly in the area that can do such a thing. We will show political responsibility and maturity in record time – said Minic.
He said that he expects that a new RS government will be elected very soon, in which, as he claims, there will be several new names.
– The time is turbulent and anyone who is not ready for an institutional response will not do well politically. The early elections for the President of the RS were fabricated, it was a coup against the President of the RS. Here, Siniša Karan won, and yet we have a fight with the CEC due to repeated elections, which is unheard of. In response to all this, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which until now had not decided on the merits of the Government of the RS, took it upon itself to discuss it – stated Minic.
He assessed that enormous political pressure is being exerted on the RS, that certain people will not cooperate with the Government of the RS because, as he said, it is allegedly illegal.
– We will not agree to pressure and blackmail. I am telling the citizens that there is no reason to worry and that everything will function normally when it comes to the obligations of the Government and the budget – Minic concluded.
