The minister of foreign affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Igor Crnadak said that there is no consensus regarding NATO membership, but that there is full consensus regarding cooperation with NATO, including activating the Membership Action Plan (MAP).

Crnadak participated in a meeting of foreign ministers of the American-Adriatic Charter (A5), whose host was the Macedonian foreign minister Nikola Dimitrov.

“Crnadak explained that all parliamentary parties from Republika Srpska are against full membership but are for continued cooperation with NATO, including SNSD, whose official Nebojsa Radmanovic, as a member of the Presidency of BiH, signed the official request for activating the MAP,” the Ministry said.

Crnadak added that BiH is continuing with reforms in other sectors, as well, especially in those that are related to European integrations.

Crnadak highlighted that BiH values the significance of the American-Adriatic Charter since it allows for the exchange of opinions and cooperation in the security field.

The US assistant secretary of state Hoyt Brian Yee, who met Crnadak after the meeting, also attended the meeting.

Crnadak also met with the president of the National Committee for US Foreign Policy Rosemarie DiCarlo and exchange thoughts regarding the current situation in BiH and the region, the process of European integrations of BiH and cooperation with NATO, as well as current world events.

Crnadak is participating in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
