How much Arms did BiH export in 2018 and to whom?

Military industry in BiH is achieving good results again this year. According to the data of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, almost 72 million BAM worth arms and ammunition were exported in the first five months of this year.

At the same time, we imported only about 4.5 million BAM in weapons.

In the first half of the year, the largest purchaser was Turkey with a total of 17,037,104 BAM, then Saudi Arabia (14,551,938 BAM), Afghanistan (11,995,152 BAM), the USA (9,909,315 BAM), Egypt (7,649,153 BAM), Croatia (2,279,125 BAM), Germany (1,290,340 BAM), Serbia (1,208,956 BAM) etc. It is also interesting that BiH exported more than a million BAM worth weapons to Namibia in the first months of this year.

During the year of 2017, a total of 193.8 million BAM worth arms were exported from BiH. We mostly exported to Saudi Arabia, (45,583,023 BAM), Afghanistan (29,947,702 BAM), and the USA (26,236,492 BAM).

Otherwise, BiH exported weapons in the total amount of 171.194.521 BAM during the year of 2016, and 138.898.132 BAM the year earlier.

The fact that weapons and ammunition in the amount of 93.875.855 BAM were exported from BiH in 2014 confirms that the sale of BH weapons is recording an increase. It amounted to 63.705.765 BAM in 2013, a total of 79,029,303 BAM in 2012, and 44,483,949 BAM in 2011.

In comparison to the year of 2011, exported weapons and ammunition from BiH were increased by more than 155 million BAM.

In the last five years, weapons from BiH were mostly purchased by Saudi Arabia, the USA, Afghanistan, Switzerland, Egypt, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, Pakistan…
