Minister Grlic Radman: Croatia is ready to help Bosnia on its Euro-Atlantic Path

Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman said today in Sarajevo that Bosnia and Herzegovina is leaning on Croatia and that its Euro-Atlantic path also goes through Croatia, which, as he pointed out, is a sincere advocate of these aspirations and efforts of BiH and is ready to help.

The head of Croatian diplomacy is on a two-day official visit to BiH. Upon his arrival in Sarajevo, he met with the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Majlinda Bregu, and then separately with the head of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein Kavazovic, and the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljic.

Grlic Radman said that he conveyed the message to everyone that Croatia was and remains a friend of BiH, ready to help in any way to preserve the stability of BiH and accelerate its approach to Euro-Atlantic integration.

“Croatia strongly supports the integrity of BiH and the equality of its three constituent peoples and the desire for all citizens to feel good in it,” said Grlic Radman.

He thanked Kavazović for the meeting and constructive conversation, emphasizing the importance of inter-religious dialogue in BiH. The interlocutors assessed that the traditionally good relations between the two countries and the two peoples, which have been occasionally burdened by the events in the region in recent decades, must be improved and deepened.

Grlic Radman and Kavazovic pointed out that it is necessary to talk as much as possible and in that way overcome all divisions that prevent BiH from becoming a functional and stable state.

Communication between Sarajevo and Zagreb should be intensive and open, because BiH relies on Croatia on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration. As it was said during the meeting, the example of cooperation between the Islamic Community and the Catholic Church in BiH as well as its leaders, reis-l-ulema and Cardinal Vinko Puljic, through the Interreligious Council of BiH, could be a good example for politicians to maintain communication and cooperation for the benefit of both states and both nations.
