The minister for communication and transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Ismir Jusko met today in Sarajevo with a delegation of the Chinese firm China Energy Engineering Cooperation (CEEC), led by vice president Yu Gang.

Representatives of CEEC expressed interest in cooperation with BiH firms in the area of transport infrastructure. Also, they expressed interest in participating in projects related to corridor Vc and are looking for strategic partners in BiH for transport and energy infrastructure.

“We guarantee that we can meet the criteria for all potential projects, from financing to construction. We have very good relations with Chinese banks and insurance companies, which is our advantage,” Gang said.

As an example of their capacities, Gang pointed to a billion-dollar worth project in Pakistan.

Minister Jusko welcomed the intentions of CEEC and expressed willingness of the Ministry and him personally to help this Chinese firm acquire contacts with BiH companies and invest in BiH.

He also noted that it’s very important that CEEC uses the local labor force in the realization of its projects, so in our case, it would employ workers from BiH.
