Bosnia and Herzegovina is making all the efforts to cover possible challenges that may be a terrorist threat and we will not leave any information to chance, said the Minister of Security of BiH, Dragan Mektic.

“We increased the level of supervision over all people who can be associated with radicalism and terrorism in BiH in any way possible and we are doing everything to act preventive,” said Minister Mektic on the occasion of recent terrorist attacks in Europe.

He added that the Ministry of Security of BiH implemented certain activities in the past two to three months, whose aim was to “cut” certain activities that could be linked to terrorism.

“We are still monitoring that, but you can see that this is a very complex problem in the entire Europe. Every segment of society must have this feeling when it comes to the fight against terrorism and we have to work together with security services in order to be effectively protected,” said Mektic in Sarajevo.

He also talked about the case of twins brothers from BiH who were accused by the German authorities for the preparation of the terrorist attack and who were deported from this country, after which they returned to BiH and got released.

“They did not commit any terrorist act in Germany,” stated Mektic, “because if they were, the authorities of Germany would imprison them.

He also added that the Ministry of Security of BiH was cooperating with the authorities of Germany for several months with the aim to resolve this case, while the brothers from BiH were still in Germany.
