The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republika Srpska (RS), Alen Seranic, stated that the measures that will be adopted due to COVID-19 will not be aimed at citizens at this time.

Seranic stated that together with the Institute for Public Health of the RS, they monitor weekly the data on the number of people staying in hospitals, as well as those tested and infected.

Moreover, he pointed out that there are no significant changes in data on a weekly basis, people get infected, recover from the disease, and return to work.

“What we are interested in is the number of hospitalized patients who have complications, but even there the data are not significantly alarming,” said Seranic in Prnjavor.

He stated that the measures will be more or less aimed at hospitals, and then at health centers.

“We have all already learned how to protect ourselves from COVID-19. Those recommendations that apply to the citizens themselves, and we all know them, should be respected regardless of the virus. If you are sick, don’t go to work, but stay at home, if your child is sick, take a sick day to stay home with him,” Seranic concluded.
