Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France: Support for Schmidt and the State of BiH

The threats of Milorad Dodik, the president of the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina Republika Srpska, whose aim is to ban the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, from entering this entity, the institution established by the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement, represent an attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the framework of which it must be guaranteed freedom of movement, announced the Embassy of France in BiH, conveying the position of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of that country.

This development followed a series of worrying measures that this entity recently adopted limiting the freedom of the media and undermining the unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is contrary to the efforts of the Bosnia and Herzegovina authorities to bring the country closer to the European Union for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As a witness to the Dayton-Paris Agreement, France confirms its support for the high representative and will continue to firmly support the unity and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

France calls on all political forces in the Republika Srpska to return to the path of reforms necessary to realize the prospect of membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, Fena reports.
