The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selmo Cikotic, chaired a working meeting in Sarajevo on Monday, at which measures for more efficient management of illegal migration, provision of adequate accommodation for migrants, but also improvement of security and other living conditions of the local population were discussed.

In addition to the representatives of the Ministry of Security of BiH, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Service for Foreigners Affairs of BiH.

Considering that the Una-Sana Canton and the City of Bihac are the most burdened by the migrant crisis, the Prime Minister of the USC Mustafa Ruznic, the Commissioner of Police of the USC Mujo Koricic and the Mayor of Bihac Suhret Fazlic also attended the meeting.

The focus was on finding a solution to control the movement and stay of migrants during the coming winter.

Concrete conclusions were made related to the implementation of the conclusions of the Presidency of BiH on the relocation of migrants outside populated and urban areas in specially built facilities.

In addition to ensuring adequate conditions for the accommodation of migrants and better control of their movements, security conditions for the local population will be improved and the pressure of migrants on municipalities in the western part of BiH will be reduced.
