Mirzet Halilović Restorator radiokameleon.baMirzet Halilović from Tuzla is making unique vehicles out of old wreckages, which look as true works of art after the restoration. Vehicles which are the outcomes of Mirzet’s unusual hobby were presented at numerous fairs throughout the world.

Mirzet has been dealing with vehicle restoration for ten years now, and it all started with one Fića.

Mirzet said that a long time ago he purchased one Fića from 1961, which he restored afterwards. It is in driving condition to this day. For his first piece of work, that Fića, Mirzet says was a great challenge and it looked very unattractive.

“Isn’t it beautiful to revive something that has died? Reviving its glory is priceless,” Mirzet says.

Mirza said he has been mostly working on old Volkswagen vans lately and the last one he restored is to be sold to a customer in Germany.

Mirzet said he purchases parts and whatever is necessary for working on his unique movable “pieces of art” online, adding that he did not restore too many cars.

Mirzet visited numerous fairs with his unique vehicles, but he highlights that the most important fair for him is the one in Munich. When asked if he makes some profit of his unusual hobby, Mirzet said it is not a profession but a hobby.

“If I manage to sell something, then the money goes for some basic expenses,” Mirzet says.

“I outperform myself every time I face a new challenge. We are strong if we defeat others, but we are powerful if we defeat ourselves,” Mirzet concluded, highlighting that car restoration is a kind of manufacture and that such type of work is like anti-stress therapy.
