Ceremony on Monday For the Arrival of the Lioness in the Sarajevo Zoo

lavicaIn Pionirska Dolina on Monday 17 March, the ceremony for the official arrival of the 7 year old lioness from Osijek zoo will be organized.

According to the research associate for information of KJKP “Park” Aldijana Hamza, many reputable guests will visit Pionirska Dolina for that occasion. Namely, the guests are the friends and persons who gave contribution for the zoo’s development.

Esad Tajić, the manager, will express gratitude to the most responsible friends. Moreover, the members of the Association of basketball club “Realway”, as well as the mascot Rily, from which the 4 year old lioness got the name, will also be present.

Furthermore, the ceremony regarding the end of the building of the project for the new animal species of the African serval will take place. Citizens will have the opportunity to see the new animal on Monday.

“This represents a unique opportunity for the new business season of our only Bosnian recreational zoo centre”, says Hamza.

She stresses the fact that the lioness is in good health. She is in quarantine and under the supervision of the Veterinary Station of Sarajevo canton.

“The lioness is behaving in accordance with her origin and species. According to our veterinarian, if the temperature reaches 10 degrees Celsius or more, the lioness will seldom be in the external part of the habitation, which is also quarantined. On that occasion the citizens will have the opportunity to see her”, said Hamza.
