Representatives of the International Monitoring Mission for the census will be in BiH from tomorrow in order to assess whether all preparations have been made for the census that is scheduled for October.
It was announced that on the last day of their mission they will present a report in which they will provide an assessment on whether BIH is ready to implement the census in October.
The census was originally scheduled for October, but it was postponed to October since several issues were not resolved.
The Director of Eurostat Pieter Everaers was not able to say in March that the preparations were developing as they should, and said that the answer to this question would be known by the end of May.
Then speaking of the findings of the 8th monitoring mission in BiH that was carried out from 18-22 March, Everaers said that he is very satisfied with the progress observed in connection with the processing of data and the methodology.
However, he expressed concern regarding the finalization of the census, improvement of coordination and cooperation between participants in the organization for the preparation for the census to be carried out, the adoption of a financial plan and the finalization of cartography.
At the session on 28 February, the BiH Council of Ministers gave approval to a draft plan of census activities for the census in 2013, and the implementing agencies have so far agreed.
“All the activities that are planned by the Operative Plan Agency are regulated by the law on the census for 2013. Of the main activities that are planned for the current period, a tender was launched for the printing of census instruments, a public call was published for the selection of the best bidder for the location of data processing in East Sarajevo, and the filling of the content for PI and P2 was finalized’’, announced earlier the BiH Agency for Statistics.
