In the Draft Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2022, 19 million marks were allocated for agriculture compared to the previous year, said the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Semsudin Dedic at a press conference in Mostar.

“Together with the funds planned by municipalities and cantons in their budgets, this year the farmers will receive total support in the amount of over 160 million marks,” said Minister Dedic.

He added that due to the increase in the price of raw materials and fuel, it is an extremely challenging year for farmers.

“We held a meeting with the cantonal ministers; these days we will hold others; in order to harmonize support measures in agriculture as much as possible, in order for farmers to receive as much support as possible during spring sowing,” the Minister pointed out.

To this end, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture has proposed that the Federal Directorate of Commodity Reserves provide fuel for farmers in the Federation of BiH (50 liters per hectare of cultivated area) from existing stocks of commodity reserves.

”I believe that together we will succeed in making agricultural production sustainable this year, and that we will continue to create preconditions for its further development. Certainly, the increase in the budget of Commodity Reserves, which will have a much more active role, together with the relevant ministry, with the aim of buying agricultural products and preventing higher prices for agricultural products,” added Minister Dedic.
