More than 20,000 packs of cigarettes were seized in Trnovo, the East Sarajevo Police Administration announced on Sunday.

The cigarettes were discovered during an inspection of a Volkswagen truck driven by S.R. from the East Old Town.

“A larger quantity of goods was noticed in the cargo part of the vehicle for which the said person did not have the accompanying documentation. During the search, 2,008 boxes of cigarettes of various types without excise stamps were found in the vehicle,” the police stated. Against S.R. a report on the criminal offense of illicit trafficking will be submitted.
