The locals of Zvirnjaca in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) moved abroad in a search for a better future, and as Marijan Jonjic says, they left the whole village for him to use.
Judging by the increasing number of people leaving the country and going abroad, BiH will soon be empty.
Only 10 minutes from village Zvirnjaca, you can see RamskoLake, which is beautiful at any time of the year.
Zvirnjaca, namely, belongs to the municipality of Kupres, and is located between Tomislavgrad and the municipality of Prozor-Rama. Jonjic lives there with his wife and two children and a flock of 380 sheep.
There are five or six older married couples and single people in the village, and Jonjic mainly uses the barns and meadows from which he collects hay for the sheep, journalist Srecko Stipovicsaid on his YouTube channel.
His wife and children help with the work. There are also shepherds who look after the herd. Jonjic mentioned that hisfather was the poor man in the village, but today, Jonjic has everything. He can live well, educate his children. Also, he has a house in Kupres.
He is satisfied with the incentives provided by the state and hegets 55 BAM per head.
Jonjic’s relatives and neighbors gave all the estates and land to him to manage. These people left for Zagreb, Germany, orAustria.
Marijan Jonjic‘s son, twelve-year-old Gabrijel, learned to drive all the machines and mow with a tractor four years ago. He showed Stipovic how to shear sheep, drive a truck and mow meadows. Namely, more and more inhabitants of BiH are going abroad, and it is unknown whether they will be replaced by foreigners.
