Mostar Airport had only five Passengers in November, and the Government invested more than 16 Million BAM

Mostar Airport received only five passengers in November, which is its weakest performance in this month in more than a decade and a big fiasco considering the constant announcements of new flights and the huge flow of money from all budgets in the country.

Last month Mostar Airport had no commercial flights, because the summer charter season ended in October. In November of this year, even fewer passengers passed through the Mostar airport than during the pandemic-affected year 2020, while the numbers fell by 99 percent compared to the previous year in 2019, reports Ex-Yu Aviation News.

Overall, Mostar Airport served 10.801 passengers in the period from January to November, which is a 66.5 percent drop compared to three years before. The airport management announced that Wizz Air will start flights next year. However, there was no confirmation of these plans on behalf of the low-cost carrier.

To recall, huge financial resources from all levels of government have been allocated for the Mostar Airport for years, and the fruits of the investment are not visible at all, which raises many questions considering the fact that it is located in the most favorable geological area in our country.

Only the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) invested 16 million BAM in the Mostar airport in the past eight years as part of financial support for the equipment, modernization, and operation of the airport in the FBiH, Klix.ba reports.
