Mostar chosen for the new Eurowings Destination, a Direct Line to Cologne expected soon

Mostar has become the new destination of the low-cost German company Eurowings, thanks to the votes that were collected through an online poll. In the very tense finale, Mostar won the cities of Shannon (Ireland) and Trapani (Italy) and thus Mostar will get a direct line to Cologne in the next summer season.

After a one-hour long vote in which Mostar led and eventually won 38 % of votes on Facebook, Eurowings announced the following: “Thank you everyone for voting and see you soon in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Eurowings previously published a list of ten European destinations and invited visitors to their site to vote on which city will be included on their flight schedule for the next summer season. In the competition, besides Mostar, there were Brac, Trieste, Castellon, Podgorica, Shannon, Trapani, Bergen, Belfast and Biarritz.

Thanks to the votes, Mostar got in the final round of voting pretty quickly, and it was quite close with Shannon and Trapani. Numerous public figures invited citizens to vote for Mostar, and the Mayor Ljubo Beslic said that these kinds of flights are very important for the development of Mostar and Herzegovina.

The Mostar Airport has been trying to extend their offer of flights of some low-cost company for years, and their efforts have finally paid off.
