The commander of the Pale fire department, Goran Božić, told Srna news agency that in last night’s fire in Mokro, a mother and a child were killed, as well as the entire ground floor and the first floor of the left part of the duplex house.
According to him, the fire was not noticed in time because it was night, and no one was awake.
“As we have information, the victim’s mother woke up her husband, who brought out the two children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, but unfortunately she stayed with the third child and was unable to get out,” Božić said.
He points out that they received a report that a house was on fire in Mokro at 00:50.
“A fire engine left and a house caught fire was found on the spot. Then we were informed that there might be a woman and a child in the house. The fire was extinguished from the outside, after which we received reinforcements and entered the house,” said Božić.
He said that after 45 minutes the fire was localized and in the children’s room they found two charred bodies, one of the child and the other of the mother.
Božić says that extinguishing the fire lasted until 3:45 this morning.
According to him, it is the left side of the duplex house and the ground floor and first floor of the house were completely burned, and apart from material damage, human lives were also affected.
